The Challenge
The goal was to create an environment as realistic as possible, in which challenging skills could be trained under stressful conditions. This required the development of not only visually convincing but also technically optimized 3D models for real-time applications – ready for use with VR headsets on a PC. The objects had to be functionally relevant, precisely scaled, richly textured, and performant enough for demanding simulations. Equally important was the representation of human figures – both as training avatars and as victims or antagonists within the training scenarios.
Our Solution
Bytewood handled the complete creation of the digital content for the training environments: weapons, rescue equipment, vehicles, clothing, medical supplies, and numerous environmental details were modeled, textured, given clean UVs, and optimized for real-time performance. We also developed animated avatars capable of realistic movements and emotional reactions—essential for authentic scenarios under stress. All models were developed in close collaboration with the project team and integrated directly into the mixed-reality framework. Through the precise combination of visual realism and technical efficiency, our content makes a significant contribution to the immersive training experience. The project was designed for international crisis and training scenarios and actively supports global sustainability goals such as SDG 9 (Innovation & Infrastructure) and SDG 16 (Peace & Strong Institutions).
